BINDERS FULL OF WOMEN (MITT ROMNEY REMIX) – THE MELKER PROJECT

Like most of you, the term “Binders Full Of Women” has been running unchecked through my mind since last night’s debate.  In an effort to silence my Romney related demons, I decided to throw together this track. I removed the original vocals from my Gangnam Style Remix, and chopped up Romney’s speech, with some gems from Obama (disclaimer, the Presidential quotes are NOT REAL). What we have left is some Political Trap music. Enjoy and SHARE.

Calvin Harris, Ne-Yo, Adele, Trillville, Drake and more! Free Music!

The new Adele song (and James Bond theme) was begging to be mashed up. As usual, I took something completely unrelated and threw it on top – Trillville’s crunk anthem “Neva Eva.” In addition, I used the drums from the Drake track “Successful,” as well as the vocals and part of the instrumental from the Kanye West & Jay-Z track “H.A.M.” You will notice some orchestral singing behind Adele during her verse, which comes from the Kanye and Hova song… Enjoy! Listen and download below!

I’m not really feeling the original version of “Let’s Go,” but thought that the vocals might do well as an R&B slow jam.  I think I was right – but you can be the judge! For the instrumental, I used the Bobby Creekwater track “You And What Army.” Listen and download below!

Anything Could Happen Vs. Twerk (The Melker Project Popped And Screwed Remix) – Ellie Goulding Vs. Juicy J

Ellie Goulding is amazing. Her voice seems to work on basically everything, from pumping house beats to incredible covers and poppy originals. I have remixed her before and am sure that I will do it again in the very near future. All of that said, “Anything Could Happen” finds itself in the background of this Popped and Screwed track, featuring Juicy J, who has seen a bit of a renaissance behind his newest track “Bands A Make Her Dance.” This remix features his not-so-classic-but-still-somewhat-amazing song “Twerk.” As this is a “Popped And Screwed” remix, Ellie’s voice has been dramatically altered… I also sampled the beat from Ludacris’s new track “Jingalin'” to add a little boom.

The top 25 mashups of all time – The Melker Project makes the list!

Pigeons & Planes is one of the most prolific music blogs on the interwebs. I read it religiously, and nearly choked when I came across my track “Message In A Bottle Vs. Mercy” on their recently penned list of the Top 25 mashups EVER.

From Pigeons & Planes

Mash-ups get no respect. Part of the problem is that with the easy-to-use technology these days, anyone can make them—and they do. It has led to a saturation of the Internet with half-assed mashes will little thought and even less listenability. But as music evolves, a big part of the story is becoming not just the creation of entirely new sounds, but the reimagination of existing ones.

Mash-ups put familiar tracks into an entirely new context, and when they’re done right, they can be a perspective-changing headfuck. Snobs can turn up their noses all they want and dismiss mash-ups as cheap novelties for the ADHD-riddled generation with no filter and no respect, but we’re fairly certain that they go home, close the blinds, and throw a solo dance party to Biggie vs. Miley Cyrus. Don’t be ashamed. Here are The 25 Best Mash-Ups.

Me & My Bitch Are Never Getting Back Together (Taylor Swift Vs. Biggie) AND Icona Pop

Taylor Swift put out a new song. It reached number 1 faster than any other release in history. It is still number 1. It is about her emotionally abusive boyfriend and how she is never (ever) getting back together with him. Biggie once put out a song with a similar theme, except it was about physical abuse, often at the hand of his own “bitch.” But he loved her, you know. So thematically, they are basically the same. Now they are one song. Oh, and Taylor’s voice is dropped about a half an octave. LISTEN AND DOWNLOAD FOR FREE HERE:

Icona Pop is awesome. When the label sent over these stems to do a remix, I obviously couldn’t resist. So here is the prerelease of the soon-to-potentially-be-official remix of “I Love It.” It’s a bit trappy…. LISTEN  HERE (SORRY, NO DOWNLOAD FOR NOW!):

Gangnam Trap Style, Mercy In Da Paint, Live Your Life – 3 Trap Remixes!

The world has gone mad for Gangnam Style, which is apparently now receiving 10 MILLION views a day. I obviously had to do something with this track, but I didn’t want to do a predictable mashup. So I did a remix – I created the entire beat and sampled the vocals from the original. It is not what you would expect from me.  LISTEN AND DOWNLOAD FOR FREE HERE:

The RL Grimes & Salva Remix of Mercy is amazing.  I wanted to make it a little more accessible, so I added some chopped up Waka Flocka Flame vocals.  Play this one LOUD. LISTEN AND DOWNLOAD FOR FREE HERE:

DJ Ayres called me a few months ago to do this remix of “Live Your Life” by Yuna. The original was produced by Pharrell, and this request came directly from The Fader, so of course I had to say yes! I am finally releasing it on my soundcloud page… LISTEN AND DOWNLOAD HERE:
