Show Me Pound Cake Hits Number 1 On The Hype Machine!
We did it! Another number 1 hit on THE HYPE MACHINE. “Show Me Pound Cake” spent roughly 36 hours this weekend at the top of the chart. Thank you all for hitting that little heart button and making the track an internet sensation! In case you missed it, here is the track again!

Show Me Pound Cake Ft. Jay-Z, Ellie Goulding, Chris Brown & Kid Ink
“Pound Cake” has one of the hottest beats that I have heard in a long time. I was curious as to where they found the vocal sample, and was surprised to find out that it was Ellie Goulding. I found the original Ellie Goulding track, repitched it and chopped it up to match “Pound Cake,” and created a completely new beat. I did not actually sample Pound Cake at all, except for the Jay-Z vocal where he says “Cake, Cake, Cake.” After creating the new beat, I went in search of a vocal that would suit the track, and stumbled across “Show Me” by Kid Ink. I am actually not a big fan of the original track (or of Chris Brown, for obvious reason), but it seemed to work perfectly for me. So here it is – Show Me Pound Cake… I hope you like it! Capital Cities – Safe And Sound (The Melker Project Remix)
“Safe And Sound” was one of the biggest songs of 2013. When I listen to it, for some reasonI hear a perfect R&B melody… so I created a track to fit my vision. I went back to my roots, playing the piano as the foundation for the remix, and built it up from there. As an aside, I will be releasing a single remix EVERY WEEK from here into perpetuity – so consider this the first of a long string of tracks, dropping every Wednesday!
